Experience the Essence of Sri Lankan Cuisine

Welcome to Sigiriya Restaurants, where our award-winning Sri Lankan cuisine is freshly prepared by our talented chefs within our elegantly designed restaurant, providing you with an unforgettable dining experience.

Since opening our doors in Hale Village in 2017, Sigiriya rapidly became a favourite for those seeking exceptional food and superior service. Building on our success, we proudly launched a second location in Knutsford, Cheshire, in 2023. Here, we’ve blended the best elements from our Hale restaurant with the vibrant simplicity of Sri Lankan street food, infusing it with beloved European flavours to create a diverse and exciting menu.

Our mission is to deliver delicious, nutritious meals. Sri Lankan cuisine is naturally low in oil, and we use only the freshest, highest quality ingredients in all our dishes. Everything is prepared from scratch by our talented chefs, offering extensive menus of traditional and innovative dishes. With 80% of our menu dedicated to Sri Lankan specialties, we aim to deliver the most genuine dining experience possible.

Each of our locations features unique menus of authentic, flavourful dishes catering to a variety of dietary needs. Alongside our traditional offerings, we provide vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free options, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

Our Cuisine: A Symphony of Flavors

The heart of Sri Lankan cuisine lies in its vibrant, flavourful dishes. Central to this is rice, typically served with a curry of fish or meat, accompanied by an array of vegetable, lentil, or fruit curries. To enhance each meal, we include pickled fruits or vegetables, chutneys, and sambols, giving each dish a delightful range of flavours and textures.

Our Ingredients: The Essence of Sri Lanka

Our dishes are a vibrant tapestry of colours and flavours, showcasing the richness of Sri Lankan spices. We expertly blend hot Sri Lankan spices with cloves, cardamoms, nutmegs, and peppers, sourced from the lush regions of Kandy and Matale. This careful selection and combination of spices result in the distinctive and unforgettable taste that defines Sigiriya Restaurants. Each dish is cooked to order and tailored to your preferred spice level, ensuring you experience the best of Sri Lankan cuisine.

Homage to Sigiriya: Celebrating our Heritage

We pay homage to our namesake, Sigiriya – the Lion Rock – through our food and culture. Sigiriya is Sri Lanka’s most dramatic sight, a majestic rock that rises with near-vertical walls from the lush jungle of the central plains. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982, it has been a settlement for Buddhist monks since ancient times.

Sigiriya is a well-planned monastic complex with cave temples, bathing pools, ponds, and Asia’s oldest surviving landscaped gardens. Today, it’s famous for its fresco paintings and is a place of beauty and historical significance. The “lion stairway,” the “mirror wall,” and the “water gardens” are just a few of its highlights.

Our Cultural Celebration: Embracing Traditions

Sigiriya is perhaps the most memorable place to visit in Sri Lanka, and our restaurant seeks to celebrate the rich history of this special place by blending Indian and Buddhist traditions through exquisite food and warm hospitality. This is the Sri Lankan way. Experience a piece of Sri Lanka with us, in Hale and Knutsford – a true celebration of culture, history, and culinary excellence.
